Our new addition to the family

Six little colorful fishies with long flowing fins:
[in voices like the Martians from Toy Story] “Ooooo…Nice new home. We like it here. Yes, very much.”

One beautiful shiny aquarium:“It’s so squeaky clean and bubbly and pretty and bright and new and cool and it’s in our house!!! The grandeur of it all. Amazing. Simply amazing.”

Two rocks collected on a vacation adventure:
*gasp* “What novel souvenirs from a trip to the Rockies, taken back when we were barely married! Oh my. The foresight of it all. Just now come to fruition. Years later!”

Three kind and generous friends:
"Thank you for the aquarium and the Shubunkins! We’re so excited to have some of our very own we can hardly stand it! Thank you!”

One lucky, happy and very excited wifey:
“These cute widdle Shubunkins are so cool! I just love'em! Can we get a dog?”

One very loving and very understanding hubby:
[in slightly exasperated voice] “A DOG? Really??? But we just got the fish? Can’t we enjoy them for a moment before adding anything else to the menagerie?”

Back to lucky wifey:
“Okay, Sweetie. No worries. No dog yet. Just checking to see if you’re listening. Thank you for letting us get Shubunkins! [very sweetly] I love you, Honey.”

One slightly curious but rather miffed and perplexed cat:
“What are those things bobbing around in the shiny clear box anyway?!? And who on earth filled it with water? That's rediculous. Who needs that much water anyway? And why is it up so high? I practically have to strain my neck to study it. Hardly worth the effort. And why aren’t my people paying attention to me anymore? What’s so great about those fluttering thingies in the shiny box? Helllllloooooo??? I’m down here. Anybody?” [gives up and saunters off to the bedroom to curl up on MY SIDE of the bed and drifts off into another 23-hour catnap - after all...it's exhausting to be a cat]

One really crazy and fun house:
“Thanks for tuning in for this episode from our fair adventure. Now, on to the next!”
