Laced with diamonds

Wanna know what one of my favorite parts of winter is? Frost! I love how it adds intricate lace to the humblest of windows and highlights every branch in trees with strings of icy diamonds to create breathtaking winterwonderlands.

Early Sunday morning we bundled up and headed north for a daylong date to Minneapolis filled with a little shopping, some really good food, and a lot of fun time together.

Along the way, we drove into some dense fog. It was fun driving along, feeling like we were the only car out on the road. The best part, however, was when we drove out of the fog. Thick frost coated the trees, the ground, and everything in between. It was amazing. Then the sunlight peeked through the clouds every so often and made the landscapes even more dazzling.

So here's to the best parts of winter and being thankful for finding beauty in all that's around us!
